Floortime® ROADMAP

What is Floortime® ?
Floortime® or Developmental Individual-difference Relationship-based model (DIR)® developed by child psychiatrists Stanley Greenspan, M.D. and Serena Wieder, PhD provides a comprehensive, individualized approach to assess, understand, and treat children who have developmental delays (including ASD). Floortime® is actually a strategy within the DIR model that encourages parents/professionals to play with the child. The goal is to improve cognition, language, and social and emotional skills are learned through relationships that involve emotionally meaningful exchanges. By focusing on emotional development, DIR touches on speech, motor or cognitive skills in isolation. Floortime® is an evidence-based intervention.
