Autism Friendly Specialists
If there's one piece of critical advice that I could give parents, it's to make sure their child's first experience is a positive one and that the child is being taught correctly the first time. Many kids with Autism will refer back to how they were initially taught making it difficult to change later on. It's possible for them to modify a new skill but it can be a frustrating process to get there.
The short videos are meant to help you with tips that can guide you through this process with doctors and specialists.
If someone with Autism has had one or more negative experiences with something like a haircut, it can be very difficult for them to no longer associate the negative experience with that activity. This is why I created a page of autism friendly businesses so parents have a better chance of introducing new experiences with professionals who are open and willing to make it a positive experience.
