What is Physical Therapy (PT)?
Physical therapy addresses the illnesses or injuries that limit a person's abilities to move and limits daily functional activities.

What are the benefits?
PT can improve mobility, balance to prevent falls, strengthen muscles, and functional mobility to perform daily tasks. Some children with Autism have weaker gross motor skills or strength. Not every child with Autism needs PT therapy. If PT is medically necessary, there many options to choose from. PT can be done during Early Intervention, in a clinical setting, in a school based program with goals listed in the IEP and even through equine hippotherapy. The number of session per week, the length and the goals can be created during the IEP or IFSP meeting.
